National parks are areas of land set aside for special protection by a country’s government. Many areas are made national parks because of their natural beauty or their importance to wildlife. Other areas become national parks because they have special cultural or historical significance. However, the most important reason for creating a national park is always to protect the area and preserve it for future generations to experience.
